DAYS 1 & 2 THE VICTORIA FALLS HOTEL, Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Day 1
Upon arrival guests will be met by their guide who will discuss their itinerary specially prepared for the Tour. Accompanying the itinerary will be the vouchers and information pack on the lodges, hotels and activities for the next 6 nights of Safari.

From the Airport guest are transferred to Victoria Falls Hotel for check in.

Includes: Bed & breakfast, Zambezi River Sunset Cruise, Guided Tour of the Falls, 15 Minute Helicopter Flight of the Falls

Established in 1904, the Victoria Falls Hotel is set in the Victoria Falls National Park with a private path to the Victoria Falls. Overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge and gorge, it is one of the most famous hotels in Africa and is renowned for its elegance and charm.

The suites and rooms are well appointed, cool and comfortable and are furnished in traditional Edwardian style with every modern amenity including air conditioning, satellite television, mini-bars in suites, complimentary early morning tea/coffee, direct dial telephone, personal safe, 24-hour room service, bathrobes, hairdryer, and umbrellas for guests’ personal use.

Airport Transfer Time: 30 minutes

Depending on the time of the year clients will be picked up for a sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River, summer time pick up at 1600hrsand winter time pickup at 1530hrs. On the boat guests will enjoy the fresh Zambezi Breeze with complimentary drinks, wines, light finger snacks and beers. After Sunset the boat docks at the jetty site and guests are transferred to their hotel for their first night.

Day 2

After breakfast, guests will be met at the hotel by their guide at around 0900hrs and take the short drive to the Victoria Falls Rainforest entrance where they will embark on a Guided Tour of the Falls. The guide will take them through all the view points of this magnificent 7th Wonder of the World explaining the flora & fauna in expert detail. After the 2-3 hour tour guest will be transferred back to the hotel for lunch or to a restaurant of their choice were they will have lunch.

After lunch guests are picked up from their hotel and taken for one of the must do activities when visiting Victoria Falls, a 15 Minute Helicopter “Flight of Angels” over the Falls, “amazing opportunity for pictures”.

 DAYS 3 & 4  KHULU IVORY LODGE, Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

On this day, guests have one more opportunity to visit the Victoria Falls or do an early morning extra optional activity before departing for Hwange National Park. Guests will be met at the hotel around mid-morning as agreed and transferred to Khulu Ivory Lodge.

Once here the guests are under the expert guide of the lodge guide who will take them on the various activities on offer.

Includes:  meals, local drinks, 2 activities per day, laundry and return Hwange NP airport transfers (fully inclusive only)

Excludes: park fees, premium drinks

Activities: half and full day game drives, estate night drives, visits to Painted Dog Conservation centre, pan & hide sits, guided walks on the estate.

Khulu Ivory Lodge is located on a private concession of 6,000 acres on the border of Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. The entire camp overlooks an ancient riverbed, in today’s terms called a ‘vlei’. The waterhole in this vlei is known to attract a variety of the greatest wildlife and birdlife in Hwange National Park.

Khulu Ivory comprises of 5 bespoke, thatched, safari style suites built onto platforms and one honeymoon suite. The rooms are contemporary with minimal impact to the surroundings and environment. Each unit has an indoor & outdoor shower and balcony for game viewing. The main area houses a bar, dining area, boma and a plunge pool.

Activities on offer include half or full day game drives into Hwange National Park, night drives and guided walks on the estate and visits to the Painted Dog Conservation Centre.

 Transfer time from Victoria Falls: 3 hours

DAYS 5 & 6    CAMP AMALINDA, Matobo National Park, Zimbabwe

After an early morning Game Drive guests return to the lodge for breakfast, then depart for Matopos National Park.

Includes: All meals, local drinks, 2 activities a day and laundry.

Excludes: premium drinks and park fees

Activities: tracking the black rhino with 4×4 and on foot & visit Bambaba Cave or Silozwane Cave to admire the rock paintings of the Bushmen

Camp Amalinda is situated just outside Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe and is nestled in the granite domes and kopjes of the Matobo Hills and has some of the most majestic rock scenery in the world. This exclusive safari lodge is tucked away in an ancient Bushman’s shelter within the Matobo National Park. Camp Amalinda echoes the essence of tranquillity and the majesty of untamed Africa.

Amalinda consists of nine individually thatched rooms including two honeymoon suites, which are set into the huge boulders and have a panoramic view of the Matobo Hills. The camp has a central area with a library, a chess room located amongst the treetops, and an open-air dining room with a huge teak table. There is a natural cave wine cellar, and a “boma” area with a fireplace. The camp has a swimming pool overlooking a waterhole where resident wildlife comes to drink, and a heritage spa.

Mammal and bird species are prolific and include the highest concentrations of leopard and black eagle in the world, as well as a healthy population of the endangered black rhino. Activities include game viewing by foot or vehicle. You can track the endangered black rhino or drive through the granite hills in the footsteps of Cecil John Rhodes and visit his world famous tomb known as the “View of the World”. Matabele cultural visits are also on offer.
